Eight grass fields at Tenmile Park, two on the Ridge Road School lot. The field manager posts each one open, closed or limited, with the reason and the time. Rainouts are called by 2 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on Saturdays.
Every field, with the reason
A status posted before today is marked, so a stale board is visible as stale. Lights: Fields 1 and 2 until 8 p.m.
The rainout rule
By 2 p.m. on weekdays, by 7 a.m. on Saturdays, the field manager walks the park and posts every field. A closed field is closed for everyone — a practice on a waterlogged field costs the club a month of that field, and the town can close the park to us for the season.
Lightning: everyone off the field at the first thunder, thirty minutes after the last. No exceptions, no waiting to see.
Last year: 41 closure days, 38 called on time. The three late ones were storms that arrived after the call. That number is on the Financials page with the rest.
Getting there. Tenmile Park: park in the lot off Mill Road, fields 1 to 4 are by the lot and 5 to 8 past the pavilion. Ridge Road School: park by the gym, never on Ridge Road itself — the school asks, and the town tickets.
Lights. Fields 1 and 2 are lit until 8 p.m. from September; travel teams practise there after the recreational slots. The other eight close at dusk.
Dogs, bikes, smoking. Dogs on a lead and off the playing surface; bikes at the racks by the entrance; no smoking anywhere in the park, which is the town's rule, not ours.
Hear before the page changes
Demonstration form: it sends nothing and stores nothing. On a real site this is the list the field manager texts the minute a field changes.
Why a text list, not an app
A closure decided at 1:40 has to reach a parent who is at work at 1:41. A text does that; an app nobody opened does not. The list is the club's fastest channel, so it carries only field changes — never fundraising, never news.
Where the numbers live. In the SMS service, not on this website. Staff see a count (412 numbers on the sample list), never the list itself, and every text ends with STOP.
What you will get. One text to confirm the number. Then a text when a field you chose changes status — on a wet week that might be three in a day, in a dry month none.
